The Dave Wright Memorial Scholarship
The Lodi Youth Commission Scholarship program goes back many years, but two years ago the scholarship was named in the memory of David Wright. Dave was a long time adult advisor on the Lodi Youth Commission and was will liked and respected by all that served with him.
Now the Lodi Youth Commission's Dave Wright Memorial Scholarship consists of three scholarships: there is one $1000 and two $500 scholarships that are given a way each May to deserving students that live in Lodi Unified School District attendance area. Students may attend either a public, private, charter or home schools.
The LYC looks for students that have a financial need, community service experience and academic success. Student must fill out a complete application that can be downloaded form this web site. Personal interviews will be conducted and the scholarship will be presented in conjunction with their school's honors recognition programs.
To apply for the Dave Wright Memorial Scholarship, please download the application. Then, complete all parts to the best of your abilities. Make certain that the information you fill out is neatly written, preferably typed.
Scholarship Requirements:
- The applicant must be a graduating senior from the Lodi Unified School District or live in the LUSD attendance area and attend a private high school.
- Applicant must plan on attending a two or four-year university, college or trade school in the fall of 2011.
- Applicant with strong leadership abilities and those with strong GPA’s (3.0 and above) will have emphasis placed on them, but these are not the only determining factors.
- Application must be postmarked by March 29, 2011.

- Two letters of recommendations (one community member with which you have done community service with and one teacher/counselor)
