Class Descriptions
Excel 2003 - Beginners Only
This class will provide a foundation for participants new to Microsoft Excel. Basic operations will be covered including entering and changing data, simple formatting, the SUM function, and printing. Participants will create their own annual budget report, with proper formulas and formatting, and then create a simple chart.
Excel 2003 - Expressions and Functions
This class helps participants learn precisely how expressions and functions work, starting from the basics (simple arithmetic, SUM, and AVERAGE) to the complex (IF, financial formulas, etc). Time and date calculations, text manipulation, and time-saving tips will be covered.
Participants will create their own time card sheet that automatically calculates overtime, wage, and vacation accrual. This class assumes prior knowledge of basic Excel skills.
Word 2003 - Enhancing your Document
This intermediate class on Microsoft Word introduces participants to new ways to enhance their documents and save considerable time. The class will make use of Styles to create a consistent appearance within and between documents. It will demonstrate page headers, page footers, and how to create a Table of Contents. Anyone who has difficulty managing large documents or maintaining consistency should take this class.
Mail Merge (Word, Excel, and Access 2003)
Ever been frustrated trying to create mailing labels or form letters, or a customized email? This class explores the ways that Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook can all be used to create merged documents with data pulled from a variety of sources.
Access 2003 - Introduction and Basics
This class provides participants with a basic introduction to Microsoft Access databases, covering simple tables, queries, forms, and reports. Participants will create their own database for a fictitious customer listing and run reports for basic analysis and mailing address labels.
Access 2003 - Queries
This class will show participants how to create advanced queries. Queries that prompt for parameters, delete queries, append queries, and update queries will be the focused of this class. Creating queries based on sub-queries will also be covered. This class assumes prior knowledge of basic Access skills.
Access 2003 - Forms and Reports
This class will demonstrate to participants how forms and reports can be created to support user-input and present information. Concepts such as text controls, graphics, function buttons, headers and footers, groups, and more will be covered. This class assumes prior knowledge of basic Access skills.
PowerPoint 2003 - Enhancing your Presentation
For those familiar with the PowerPoint basics, this class offers more advanced instruction on how to really make your slideshow be professional, eye-catching, and informative. Learn how to manipulate the Master Slide, add your own logo, animation, and transitions in a way that makes your audience stay awake. Considerable time will also be spent on enhancing your content, images, presentation outline, delivery, and public speaking. A basic understanding of PowerPoint is required.

The Pacific series of classes are located at the beautiful University of the Pacific campus in a state-of-the-art hands-on computer lab. Classes are three hours (from 1pm - 4pm) and include:

Discounts are available:
- Register three (or more) employees for the same class and get a 10% discount
- Register the same employee for three (or more) classes and get a 10% discount
You'll be invoiced for your registrations and can remit payment via check. Directions and parking information will be emailed to you (and your attendees) along with your confirmation.
